Exercise is not something I look forward to. The mere thought of leg lunges or sit-ups makes my body ache without even doing anything. But I do know that it is an important part to my health and longevity. So to get moving I make sure I walk everyday and fit in at least 20 to 30 minutes of yoga. Its not a lot, but its something plus this type of exercise relaxes my brain and reduces my stress.
A good workout is not only good for your waistline but it has a myriad of benefits for your whole body, your complexion being one of them.
I’m sure you have heard of cortisol. Well cortisol is a stress related hormone. And in today’s multi-tasked over committed world, we have plenty of it and too much is not good. Exercise helps our bodies maintain healthy levels of cortisol. Too much of this stress related hormone wreaks havoc on our bodies and causes an imbalance. We will see increased sebum production which clogs pores and causes acne, and a breakdown of collagen which leads to wrinkles and sagging skin..
Exercise is nourishing to your whole body, it gets your heart going and supplies much needed blood and oxygen to all your organs. This increased blood supply is full of nutrients and stimulates collagen production which helps keep your skin firm and smooth. This increased blood supply feeds and stimulates hair follicles helping hair grow strong healthy and shiny. The increased blood circulation feeds your whole body and helps correct any imbalance including any hormonal imbalance which can cause adult acne. It also helps release toxins from your organs, and cells, plus all that sweat unclogs those pores.
So get moving… and remember it doesn’t have to be all sit-ups and leg lunges, just 30 minutes of a few simple yoga moves or a nice brisk walk maybe three times a week, will add years to your life and give you a nice healthy glow.
Just remember… Sweat is good, its just your fat crying…..
